Term 4 Week 1 Newsletter - 13.10.23
Principal News
Welcome to Term 4!
We began what is possibly the most exciting term of the year looking a little different, with Mr. Piccoli taking on the role of Acting Principal at St Ambrose, Pottsville. We know this will be a wonderful learning opportunity for him and look forward to welcoming him back in Term 1, 2024.
Mrs Rose and I have the privilege of co-leading OLHC this term and we look forward to the experience we will gain in this role, and continuing to work, learn and grow in our incredible Parish school community.
We also welcome Miss Emma Fitzpatrick to our amazing staff. Miss Fitzpatrick will be working in Year 5 for Term 4.
We are excited to welcome our 2024 Kinder class for Mini Macks beginning in Week 2, and welcoming our families for our liturgies, as well as our incredible Tableau and Family Christmas evening throughout the term.
Thank you to our whole community for a fantastic start to Term 4!

Child Safeguarding Website
The Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools Limited (DLCSL) has launched a Child Safeguarding website as part of our commitment to implementing the Child Safe Standards. It contains information on Child Safe Standards, our Commitment Statement, a contact form for concerns or inquiries, and other useful links and resources.
The website can also be accessed through the "Parent Information" tab on our school website. We encourage you to visit the website to understand our commitment to building a school where every child feels valued, heard, and protected.
Compass
Thank you to all the families who have engaged with our Compass platform over the last week.
From this point forward Compass will be our platform for:
• Receiving notifications about school events, news, and information
• Updating your family contact details (mobile phone & email)
• Viewing the school calendar
• Downloading and viewing your child’s academic reports
• Booking parent-student-teacher conferences
• Paying for and providing digital consent for events
• Paying school fees
If you have any questions or concerns about the new platform, please use the help link form you received in the onboarding SMS. Below is the link to the document shared with you on Thursday outlining the communication pathways at OLHC.
Thank you for embracing this change and we look forward to learning how to operate and manage this new platform together.
Canteen Orders
Canteen orders will continue to be ordered through Flexischools for this term. We will transition to the Compass Canteen option at a later date.
