Term 4 Week 5 Newsletter - 10.11.23
Principal News
As we say goodbye to the first half of Term 4, we reflect on just how quickly this term is passing by! Our Christmas Tableau and Year 6 Graduation preparations have begun, reports are being written and we are excitedly watching our new adventure play areas (behind the demountables) being built.
Our classrooms will soon be filled with learning about Advent, which reminds us of the importance of Christ in our lives and prepares us to celebrate Christ's birth at Christmas. Truly a special time of learning in our Catholic school.
We welcomed Year 6 back from their camp this morning and we look forward to sharing some of their experiences in our next newsletter! Thank you to Mrs Rose, Mrs Innes, Mr Denny and Miss Aleisha for their support of the students in a massive week of amazing experiences.
Coming up
On Monday evening, 13th November, we warmly invite our families to our next Parent Forum meeting from 5:30pm. We will share some light refreshments and discuss our Christmas Tableau.
Week 6 will see our final week of Mini Macks and we hope to have some very exciting news from Mrs Sciascia!
A reminder that Friday 24th November is a Pupil Free Day - our Out of School Hours Care will be operating. Please contact Nikiesha for bookings.
Christmas Tableau Costumes 2023
As our Tableau preparations are underway, please find the list of student costume requirements for 2023. Please send the t-shirts to school in a labelled plastic bag over the next couple of weeks. The other items can be sent in on the day of the Tableau.
Mission News
Remembrance Day Liturgy
Today, Year 4 led us in a beautiful liturgy full of prayerful reflection and commemoration of those who died while serving in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. Unlike most special occasions, this one is not a celebration. Remembrance Day ensures we remember those who gave their life in service of their country, those who served and came home injured or ill, and those who bravely serve today.
Thank you to Year 4, Mrs Hutley, Mr Denny and Mrs MacPherson for the prayerful way you prepared and led our very special liturgy today; and a special thank you to all of our families in attendance for supporting our students.
Kindergarten - Caring for Creation
After exploring the Scripture story of Noah's Ark, Kindergarten reflected on what they think God wants us to do with creation and how we can look after creation. As a class they made a commitment to make our school a better place by caring for it and will check in each day how they are going with their commitment.
On Thursday, they cared for our playground by cleaning up the bark and rubbish in and around Jensen's Jungle and making the path out the front safe for pedestrians.
Thank you, Kindy!
Exuro 2023
I am so proud to share these wonderful recounts of our students experience at Exuro and I look forward to their faith leadership over the coming year!
Exuro Experience
I was one of the few students that got to attend Exuro. My experience was positive, faithful and definitely fun. I learned so much more about my faith and had fun while doing so.
We met and worked with other schools that were all lovely to meet.
Everyone had such mindful energy and were awesome to work with. Even the guy that was in charge of the whole experience made things fun to do.
We made art, played games and discovered more about friendship, love and teamwork.
I highly recommend putting your hand up for Exuro because it was amazing! You even get a badge, candle, and certificate to remind you of your time there.

Exuro🔥
Exuro was a wonderful experience. Me and my peers learned how to be like Jesus' disciples and follow in their footsteps. We did super fun activities with the year ten ministry students from Trinity. At the end of the day, all the students prepared a beautiful liturgy that me and my classmates were a part of. My favourite part of the day was learning about leadership skills that I could take on next year for my final year of primary school.

Exuro
I had an amazing time at Exuro. We did a lot of fun activities. We learned a lot of different things, like how to respect others and how to treat others how you want to be treated.
I met new people and made some friends. We went into little groups with the year 10 ministry students from Trinity. At lunch and recess, we had the chance to play with the other schools. We also learned how to be disciples of Jesus.
In the little groups, we learned ways to be positive to ourselves and others.

Exuro
Exuro was brilliant! We learned how to respect others, follow and be Jesus’ disciples, and think positively about ourselves and our neighbours. We all had an extremely fun time including the helpful teachers. Me and my peers met new people just like us who have been through difficulties and wanted to become even better people. I absolutely loved it!

Exuro
Exuro was an exciting experience that was fun for everyone, including the adults who were just supervising us. We learnt how to be more like Jesus’ disciples and think positively of ourselves and our neighbours.
We all had some small groups where we discussed what we could do to help others with our hands, feet, and eyes. After that, our small group leaders from the fabulous high school, Trinity, told us some affirmations about each other. No one ever regretted going!
