Welcome Back to Term 4
It is already shaping up to be another big term with lots of events and activities planned for all in our school community. It's hard to believe that we are commencing the last term of our school year as it only seems like yesterday we were commencing a whole new school year.
We are excited to welcome our 2025 Kinder class for Mini Macks, and welcoming and encourage our families to attend our special liturgies, assemblies and end of year celebrations.
We are looking forward to another wonderful term at OLHC as we work together to support our children in their faith, learning and wellbeing, as well as the joy of preparing for Advent and Christmas as we approach the 25th December.
Thank you to our whole community for a fantastic start to Term 4!
New Kiss and Drop
Our new Kiss and Drop has been completed thanks to Joel Jensen Constructions.
The new Kiss and Drop will be a big change from our current morning drop off and afternoon pick up routines, however, it will reduce the risk for our children entering cars, reduce the amount of traffic letting students out at the front of the school, reduce students crossing the road on their own and reduce the risk for parents trying to reverse out with students and younger siblings moving in a high traffic area.
Important points
- This will become a no parking zone between 8am-9am Monday-Friday.
- This will become a no parking zone between 2:30pm-3:30pm Monday-Friday.
- Cars will stop parallel to the kerb between these hours when picking up students.
- All parents must remain in their vehicle, keep the car running and staff will bring students to the car via the new gate. This will be a very quick turnaround to keep traffic moving.
- If the kiss and drop area is full, parents will need to go around the block and try again.
- When entering the kiss and drop area, you must come past the school first and turn left into the driveway. Please do not try and come up Dibbs street and make a right hand turn in front of buses and oncoming traffic.
- When leaving the kiss and drop area, you must only turn left onto Dibbs street to assist buses and not turn into oncoming traffic.
We hope to educate all students during week 2 and 3 and commence our new kiss and drop on Monday 4th November.

Year 6 Leaders 2025
As a school community it is important to recognise that we are all leaders. We can be leaders in everything that we do in our daily lives - in our work, at school, when we are teaching others or when we are learning from others. Often in life we are faced with difficult decisions and challenges and it is our attitude that often determines the path we take and the choices that we make.
Over the next 4 weeks, our current Year 5 students will be reflecting on their desire to be a Year 6 Leader in 2025, preparing their speeches and writing their application.
Facing challenges and learning from our mistakes takes courage and support from family, friends and our school community. As our Year 5 leaders continue on their journey of learning and leadership throughout the into next year, we wish them every success and pray that they will have the strength to face challenges, learn from their mistakes and strive to be the best that they can be for themselves and for our school community.
Our leadership speeches will be held at 2pm on Monday 25th November.
It is our choices…that show who and what we truly are, far more than our abilities.

The competition was competitive and Far North Coast made it to the finals undefeated. Noah’s batting, fielding and pitching skills developed throughout the tournament, and as a team, they won the finals with a strong display of sportsmanship and skills, producing the final score of 11-1. Well done Noah on such a successful tournament, as a school we are so proud of you.
